Privacy policy
Last updated 20 September 2026
This is a draft policy for the VisAssistant pilot. It describes how the service handles information, and it will be replaced by a reviewed policy before general availability.
Who is responsible for your data
VisAssistant provides software to licensed immigration firms. When you message a firm through VisAssistant, that firm is the controller of your information and VisAssistant processes it on the firm’s instructions under a written agreement.
What we process
- Messages and voice notes you send to the firm’s WhatsApp number.
- Documents you send, such as a passport, letters, and bank statements, and the details read from them.
- Your WhatsApp phone number and the timestamps of messages.
What we do not do
- We never submit an application to any government on your behalf.
- We never sell your information or use it to train models.
- We never send your data to services that store it outside the regions the firm has agreed to.
Retention and deletion
Documents and extracted details are kept for as long as the firm needs them to progress your application, then deleted on the schedule set in the firm’s agreement. You can ask the firm, or write to privacy@visassistant.com, to have your information deleted.
